Review: Culture Kids, s/t (Burger Records)

I don’t know much about Culture Kids, and I can’t find out much about them online, but I like the hell out them. What I do know is that they are four dudes playing some seriously great trashy hardcore with a garage edge. I got their self titled debut album on tape from Burger Records and it is cookin’.
Recorded in all it’s screaming LOUDNESS by Frisco wünderkid Ty Segall, the tape sounds like it’s about to burst into flame the whole way though. This is hardcore the way it is supposed to be. Chainsaw guitar, barked vocals and a flat-out rhythm section.
If I had to compare it to a hamburger, it would be well done, searing hot with absolutely no toppings…. and shoved down your throat by a guy passing by on a skateboard.
You can get the tape from Burger Records right now, but hurry as it’s a limited run of 250!

It’s coming out on vinyl on Make a Mess Records at the end of January, but you can pre-order it right now.
